Ploughing and Cropping Campaign
Have you ever been for a walk, only to come across a path blocked by a crop, or that has been ploughed?
If you have, then you will know the difficulty this can cause. If you have not, then be thankful your walk leaders know which paths to avoid!
Every year hundreds of paths are blocked by crops, or are ploughed up. We need your eyes and your time to fight to keep our paths open.
There are two things we need your help with:
- Reporting any blockages you find.
- Checking reports from previous years, to make sure those paths are not blocked again.
Please help us by reporting any blockages due to crops and ploughing - our 'How to report a problem' web page describes how easily you can do this with our Pathwatch app.
As a bonus of installing Pathwatch, you will also have access to the latest Ordnance Survey maps directly on your phone (assuming you have a data connection).
We will be maintaining a map of the problems we find, and making sure the relevant council is informed of the problems.
Also we know that many historic blockages come back year after year - see our All Problems Map web page.
We need your help to check out the problems near you. The historic map will be regularly updated as problems have been checked off.
If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for your help!
PS: If you want to get involved in other ways, such as monitoring the footpaths in a particular area, helping us to improve them (e.g. replacing difficult stiles with gates), or help Ramblers in any other part of our mission, please email email@example.com to find out more.
